I first started working with children when my own children started school. I became a parent helper working alongside the teachers in reception year, year 1 and year 2 for a couple of days a week. This lasted the whole time my children were there. While I was helping out I decided I wanted to do this as a permanent job. So I attended Southdowns College. I chose childcare as a career as this meant I would be home when my own children were off on their school holidays as the hours would be the same.

I decided it was time to go back to work after being a stay at home mum to my two children. I enjoyed looking after my own children and with my husband always away I needed the hours to fit in around school and to have the holidays free as there was no family close by. I completed my NVQ2 in 2006 and became a member of staff at Peacock Preschool. I enjoy seeing children grow with confidence and learn through play and do activities independently. I can honestly say I enjoy coming to work.
